The relevant person in charge of Shiling Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, said that Shiling, as the leather goods capital of China, will continue to give full play to the boosting role of professional events on the industry, tap more talented designers and excellent works, inject new impetus into the innovative development of the leather goods industry, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the leather goods industry and sustainable development. Shiling Town will also strongly participate in the construction of the growth pole in the north of Guangzhou, anchor the goal of the national comprehensive top 100 towns, and speed up the construction of "fashion intelligent base and urban and rural integration of the beautiful town".

The expert selection committee of this competition is composed of 10 well-known people in the industry. At the event, relevant guests presented certificates to 10 expert judges.

Since its inception, the competition has received a total of 811 entries from more than 40 institutions of higher learning, such as Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Donghua University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Panyu Vocational and Technical College, as well as many domestic and foreign enterprises and independent designers, which has attracted extensive attention and active participation from major universities and enterprises across the country. The judging process of this competition follows the principles of fairness, justice and openness, and the judges conduct the selection in a scientific and rigorous attitude according to the selection procedures and scoring criteria. Each entry was selected according to the rating ratio of inspiration 40%, market transformation 30%, aesthetics 20% and design description 10%.

The on-site expert review committee finally selected 80 excellent effect drawing awards and 30 effect drawing encouragement awards, of which effect drawing excellence award works will be made in kind and shortlisted for the finals. The preliminary selection results of this competition will be released after a 7-day publicity on the wechat account of China Leather Network and China Leather Association from May 10 to May 16, 2024.
