On June 7, the spot price of copper on the London Metal Exchange closed at US$7330.5/tonne (3.32 U.S. dollars/lb), which was a 1.65% increase from the previous trading day. This is the sixth consecutive increase in the copper price. It was December last year. Since the longest continuous rise.
The rise in copper prices was mainly affected by the negotiations on the labors of Escondida, the world's largest copper mine.
However, Oliver Nugent, an ING company commodity analyst, said that the 44-day strike last year was extremely rare and unlikely to happen again.
